Some news about Appleby's Croatian Genealogy site

 

In a continuous effort to improve our services to all of you who are interested in
Croatian Genealogy, we are introducing the following changes:-

  1. Privacy

In order to ensure the integrity of queries and comments, only submissions with a valid email address will be listed - however, if you don't want the address published on our Genealogy pages, please click the "Privacy Request" button placed on the "Comment" and the "New Entry" forms
Email addresses already freely listed on our pages can be removed/changed by filling in the simple request below:-

   

Subject: Please add the Family name under which your entry is listed on our Genealogy pages
Your name
Change of email (?) or
Removal of email (?) Click this Privacy button
Location:
Where on our genealogical site is your posting?

Click "Submit" button only once, and allow a few days before you can view the changes
     


  2. Navigation & Search

For easier navigation, all entries have now been sorted into separate alphabetical lists, keeping each under 80 Kb for easy access
The entire site has been structured for speedy cross reference checks - if you see a link added to a surname you have referred to, it leads to another entry in our database with the same reference
Our Search facility has been greatly improved - please use it before submitting a "New Query", or finding your listing


  3. Membership

We have split our Membership into two categories:
Basic Membership, at a cost of US$ 10,00 will give you the following benefits:-
continuous entries maintenance and cross-reference checks
submissions of your family name to all major search engines
help with any croatian genealogy related queries
additions and/or changes of any comments, on a priority basis
 
 

Prime Membership, at a cost of US$ 20,00 will give you, in addition to the above:-
your individual family page (standard design) with all your details, any supplied photographs and/ or graphics - see sample
email notification of any new messages pertaining to your genealogical research
basic assistance with croatian and/ or english, as needed
anything else we may be able to assist you with
 
 


  4. Support

    To make your support for our genealogy services easier, we have now joined
PayPal
Secure server where you can send your donations, charitable contributions and membership fees in any currency
...... and yes, your financial help, however small it might be, goes a long way in enabling us to continue with this otherwise non-profit site

  5. New Queries

There are a few things we'd like to mention about posting a New Query:-

Before doing so, please use our Search facility to make sure that your family name isn't already included in our data base
When posting a query or comment, please note that entries containing names and places only, without any family information or comments, could well be ignored - also submissions without a valid email address
In order to keep irrelevant, often objectionable additions and spam out, all contributions are filtered - thus, please hit the "submit" button once only, and allow some time before your submission is included on our Genealogy site - we work as fast as we can!
But of course, a small Donation makes us work even faster :-)
Appleby DESPERATELY needs updated computer equipment!
