August / Augusto Jasper Jurisich;
Jurich |
| Name 2: |
Jurisich |

Surname was changed from Jurisich between 1930-1940.
Granfathers' name is August (or Augusto) Jasper Jurisich
who had a brother by the name of Nick or Nikolas who
resided in Hoboken, New Jersey between 1928-1935. Jasper
married Rose Cristel and they had one son John, residing
in the small neighboring townships of Carbonado and
Wilkeson, WA.
In the early 1900's Jasper was the game warden in Wilkeson
(approx 1920's) also the founder and proprietor or the
Pick and Shovel saloon located in Wilkeson, WA which
is still in operation today.
Have just started geneology of Jurich/Jurisich family.
I am the sole surviving member of my family, neither
my only brother nor me have children, brother passed
12/15/00 in Miami, FL.
Any direction or assistance is appreciated.

Slavko Yurkovich; Anton Yurkovich |
| Name 2: |
Ljubica and Antonia Jakovac |
| Location: |
Mala Dobra |
I'm looking for Yurkovich (or Yurkovic) family in The
States. My G-grandpa's brothers Anton (Anthony) and
Slavko immigrated to USA from a small village Mala Dobra
in Croatia. Slavko married Ljubica (Molly) Jakovac on
September 4, 1913. They lived in Lyndora, PA. They had
children: Frank, John, William, Slavko Jr., Anthony
and Barbara. Slavko died 1938. in an accident on the
work in Armco Steel company. Frank Yurkovich still lives
in Lyndora, PA, but unfortunately he's not interested
in his origins and I came to dead end. Also with Slavko
and Anton immigrated their sister Barbara (maybe married
Mischevich or Misceire). Ljubica (Molly) Jakovac also
had a sister in the States named Antonia Jakovac...
If someone recognize these people's names..please contact
me!

While researching Kastav for info about my husband's
maternal family I found you. Their name was Jurcic and
Matej was his grandfather. Matej and his wife both were
from Kastav from the locality of Jurcici. I find it
interesting the similarity of names and places.
Of course I'm a novice. E.J.
