...Heberling

Posted by: Sally on August 20, 2001 - Heberling in Nascise, old Yugoslavia

Name 1: Peter Heberling
Name 2: Juliana Kelt
Location: Nasice

Just found my father-in-law's brother Ivan Heberling arrving through Ellis Island in 1921. He states he was born in Slatura, and that his residence and that of his parents is Nasice, Yugoslavia.

Where is that located now, and how do I go about obtaining information on this Heberling family. I believe Peter and wife Juliana are buried in Nasice.
Thanks
Sally

Name 1: Tomo Horvat
Name 2: Mary Kelez
Location: Zagreb; Dubrovnik

Tomo came to the USA approximately 1895, after graduating from an agricultural school of some sort, probably in Mostar; went to Bisbee, Arizona, to work off fare (family history has it) then as quickly as he could he joined the Slavic ghetto in Watsonville, California. Married Mary Kelez in Watsonville.

Name 1: Horvath
Name 2: Jan Sogulineic
Location: Ogulin (?)

He got the noble dokument from Ferdinand 3. on 1656 (this was the year of battle of mohae) after this battle we had to leave Croatia and we settled in Slovakia.
Its only about three generations that we are called Horvath.

We are missing the link between Jan Sogulineic and Stephanus Szogulincsics (Stefan Sogulineic) alias Horvath Zeman (noble) born in the year 6.oktober 1798; as well we couldn't find the place from were we are in Croatia (we always supposed from Ogulin - but we have no informations.

Our shield (heraldry) has a unicorn and above a helmet - may be that someone looked after croatian nobility.
I speek croatian too but my grammaire is not so good - thank you very much in advance
